  I've eaten at Roots 3 times now. The first two times the food was outstanding and so was everything else. The third time, not so much.
  It took over an hour to get our food. In the meantime I ordered tea which was lukewarm whereas the restaurant was extremely hot. The refill for the tea was tepid water.
  I had ordered the Salad Nicoise, one of my favourite dishes. It came loaded with oil, loaded with sun dried tomatoes, raw string beans, not enough fish (and the fish was not that fresh) and a number of fingerling potatoes and olives from a jar.
  I found it difficult to eat even though I was very hungry. It was too acidy and did not agree with me at all.
  I didn't bother with coffee and dessert.
  This is a restaurant I have recommended to many people so I hope it's not slipping in it's quality. I will be back once more in hope that this time it will live up to the standards of before.

  Such an amazing find! We were going to go to another restaurant but because they were fully booked we decided to come here. Best decision ever!
  
  Great atmosphere and service was top notch. Our waitress was friendly, witty, and engaging. Our main courses took a little bit of time to arrive but it was well worth the wait.
  
  We got their version of their gin and tonic which was nice and light with some raspberries in it. Our meal started with a cream of asparagus soup, which they kindly split for us. You can definitely taste the asparagus, it even had little chunks in it, in case you doubted them. Then we got the duck rigatoni pasta and the full rack of ribs. Amazing! There was so much duck in my pasta that I barely got to taste the pasta. The ribs were fall off the bone soft and very smokey. We ended the meal off with a cappuccino but the dessert menu looked amazing too. We were just too full to eat any more.

  The first impression is that the restaurant is nicely designed. The menu had interesting and creative choices and the service was great. We enjoyed the food and the only thing we would change is to reduce the amount of salt in the appetizers and main courses.
